Bandung Tangkuban Perahu

Tangkuban perahu located about 25km from Bandung, 45minutes by land transport. around 2076m high from see level, in 1300ha area. you can reach the top of this mountain by the car.

Tangkuban means flipping and perahu means a boat. It literally means the shape of the mountain looks like a flipped boat. Tangkuban Perahu name itself very closely with a legend which is very famous Sundanese land, namely Sangkuriang. Tangkuban Perahu mountain which from a distance looked like a boat upside down, supposedly caused by supernatural powers Sangkuriang finish the job that failed in making the boat overnight to marry Dayang Sumbi that none other than his own mother. Because so upset not to complete construction of the boat, Sangkuriang finally kicked the boat that has not finished it.

Many visitor come to this place in the holiday or week end. This area call in Bahasa as Taman Wisata Alam Tangkuban Perahu, since 2010 managed by private company. Tangkuban Perahu Entrance Fee apply for every visitor, motor cycle, and vehicles.
